세계 거의 모든 대륙/나라에 500개 이상의 버전으로 존재하는 신데렐라형 설화에는 황금 구두에 맞춰 스스로의 신체를 훼손하는 인물들이 나온다. 설화에서 구두는 사회적 프레임으로 바꿔서 생각할 수 있다. 신발에 맞는 사람만이 안정적인 사회 안으로 선택되어 들어갈 수 있고, 신발을 신을 수 없는 사람들은 벌을 받아도 되는 것처럼 나온다. 그러하기에 사람들은 스스로의 발을 훼손하더라도 신발에 발을 구겨 넣으려 한다. 이는 익숙하지 않는 특정 언어를 체득해야하는 상황과 체득하기 위해 훈련하는 것과 유사하다 할 수 있다. 거의 사라진, 유령이 된 언어인 아이누어를 발견하고, 아이누어 사용자에게 제주어를 조사하던 화자가 보낸 대답 없는 7개의 이메일을 통해 사라진 아이누어와 사라지고 있는 제주어, 그리고 유사한 상황의 아시아의 언어에 대해 이야기한다. 비록 다른 시대, 다른 상황에서 이루어진 일이지만, 이들은 유사한 구조를 가지고 있다.

There are people who cut their foot by themselves to fit the shoes in the most of Cinderella-type fairy tales, which spread across all the continents with more than 500 versions. In the tales, the shoes can represent to social rules/ frames. And only people, who can wear the shoes, are able to be a part of the society, and people, who cannot wear the shoes, deserve to be punished. It is similar to training new languages to be a member of the society. In the video work ‘The Person Who Can Wear Golden shoe’, with the image that remind the Cinderella type fairy tale, the speaker, researching Jeju language and endangered Asian language, send seven emails to Ainu language speaker, which are almost extinction. In the email, he/she tell and give questions about Ainu and Jeju languages and other endangered Asian languages in the similar situation.
